I will try to keep this blog up to date with an adventure that has been a dream for some time. The good ship Ariel was purchased in 2009 from Sydney and motored up to the Southport Yacht Club 59 hours straight through, I admit I didn’t like that trip very much however John and a friend Bobby Paul did enjoy the trip and they were very happy with the boat. As it always is when you purchase something new there are always changes you want to make so that the boat is how you want it to be. We have spent a fair amount of money and time making the boat comfortable and seaworthy. Finally the day has come and we are undoing the lines and setting sail. We left Southport Yacht Club at 12.30 on the 30th April 2010, today we will not go too far. Arrived at DUX anchorage on Stradie at around 2.45pm where we will have a special dinner for our first night. Dux has a special place in our boating lives so it is fitting the first night is here.
