Monday (Labour Day Holiday in Queensland) we left Blakesley anchorage this morning around 11am. The wind came up and it became uncomfortable – lots of rolling and bashing – time to go. Up anchor and off to Dunwich but it didn’t look much better there so on we went to the Brisbane River. We were going with the wind so the trip was comfortable until the mouth of the river but then it was only rolly for a very short time until we were in the river proper. We have anchored up on the New Farm reach of the river there are a few other boats here and it is free. The Brisbane River has really changed it is very up-market now lots of units line the river with kilometres of walkways I went for a walk this morning right into town, under the Story Bridge and up to Riverside. We will stay here for awhile and see Brisbane by bike.
