A friend reminded me that I hadn’t entered any news into the blog for some time sorry; I have been updating the facebook. We are now in Pancake Creek – today having a wonderful day, sunny and a little warmer. Caught two fish this morning – one each and had them for lunch (Parrot fish). We arrived here on Thursday afternoon after a terrible trip up from Bundaberg. The seas were about 2.5mts or more I think and the breeze was from the west/south west with gusts up to 25knots- very uncomfortable. I got sick of course and spent the day in bed.
John and I spent about 9 days in the Burnett River Bundaberg as we have friends there and only planned to spend of couple of days but the days go by so quickly. Don’t waste a single one of them is my only advice. For those of you who are interested after we left Tangalooma and went to Mooloolaba for a few days, John was nervous about the wide bay bar but he aced it – a walk in the park. Went to visit an elderly aunty in a nursing facility, and had to drive back to Brisbane for my sons going away dinner. Hired a car from Budget for a couple of days and I have to say we had the best service from the guy’s at Maroochydore Budget. Gave Ariel a good bath here before heading off to Tin Can Bay where again we didn’t plan to spend much time but it is so beautiful there we took the bikes ashore and did some long rides to check out the area. It is on the list of places for retirement. The small yacht club put on a night for state of origin which was a nice change from our own company.
Next stop Garry’s Anchorage which is up on the inside of Frazer Island, we meet some very interesting people here on a converted trawler that have been sailing for 35years together. They have sailed around the world and all over the place several times in an Adam’s steel monohull yacht and have now converted to power. They were very interesting to talk to as are all the people you meet doing this sort of thing.
From Garry’s we went to Bundaberg. That was a long day, with 8 hours of the motors going my head was aching. Our friends in Bundaberg are also long time sailors and have sailed around the world and the stories they can tell. They kept us entertained on several evenings. We also caught up with Briar, the lady that arranged for John and I to meet 5 years ago. She lives in Bargara and works at the Bundy hospital. Well that bring us back to Pancake Creek and I will endeavour to keep this blog up to date. But as someone said, it is hard not to just do nothing but read, explore by foot and dinghy and eat. Life is hard but someone has to do it.

I haven’t seen your blog before, what a wonderful life you have, no stressful days for you then!
My son came back from Fraser Island 2 months ago and was full of praise for the area.
I’m hoping to fit in another visit to Oz before too long, until then, thanks for relating a lovely lifestyle.
