Tuesday 15th June – A hike to Bustard Head Lighthouse

The weather has not changed, it is still terrible. It has only rained a little today but the breeze is still 25knots with gusts of 30knots and it is still cold. To our surprise this morning several boats left before we got out of bed, I have no idea where they were going but it would not have been a comfortable trip and they must have better stomachs than me. Baked some cupcakes while checking emails etc this morning; then packed my backpack and took off on a hike to the Bustard Head lighthouse. John didn’t come because he was worried about the boat in this wind. The track was a little overgrown but I found my way, it is about a 40 t 45 minute hike and the view is worth the effort. There is limited mobile coverage here so I took the walkie talkie with me just to be safe. From the top I was able to contact John on Ariel and tell him about the amazing view. Hopefully the weather will settle tomorrow and I will give him a tour “It is too good to miss”. On my return John comes to collect me in the dinghy which is very convenient, my own personal chauffeur.
The rest of the afternoon was spent drinking tea and playing scrabble, John whipped me today but tomorrow is another day.
